This wine is made up of 100% Pinot Noir grapes, from Cotes de Beaune in Burgundy, France.
A markedly more elegant nose offers up spicy aromas of black cherry, raspberry and a floral top note. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the relatively refined middle weight flavors that tighten up on the almost surprisingly rustic and youthfully austere finale. This is quite firm and a wine that will also require at least some forbearance.
This wine pairs well with roast duck.
