Carlos Serres Gran Reserva is made up of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo. This Rioja has been aged in French and American oak barrels for 24 months before being refined in the bottle for 36 months before release. It is a bright red and garnet with a rim turning to brick showing it’s extended ageing in barrel and bottle. On the nose, there are complex aromas from it’s development and ageing, dark fruits, vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, it is velvety smooth and harmonious with a fresh finish.
This wine pairs well with mushroom based dishes.
